Camp Savio: Our Summer Camp

Each year, Camp Savio creates a summer Camp for youth in Fonds-Parisien. Group of volunteers and I travel to Haiti for one or two weeks to work with over one-hundred youths of Christian and Non-Christian youths.

The mission of Camp Savio is fourfold:

First, allowing God to work in our lives through, and for, these needy youths and help them discover who they are as beloved children of God. Some of the youth come from the streets without a family nor food nor any clothes.

Second, this mission will help the youth gain leadership skills, self-empowerment, and developed better attitude and understanding of responsible, virtuous adulthood.

Third, offer them a safe space to enable better recreation...and through recreation they will discover their talents. Some youth otherwise do not even have a safe place to bathe or even go to the bathroom.

Fourth, encourage these youths in Fonds-Parisien to develop a relationship with God through prayer. The committee and I had the chance to minister to the youth of Fonds-Parisien.
